FEAL iRamp — Cargo Van Ramp

  • FEAL iRamp IRV — 36" Bifold Cargo Van Ramp

The FEAL iRamp IRV is a two-piece bifold cargo van ramp built from military-grade fully anodized aluminum — the same material specification used across FEAL's professional transport ramp lineup. At 36 inches wide with a 1,000 lb load capacity, it covers the standard equipment and cargo loads that tradespeople and delivery operations move daily.

Several engineering details separate the IRV from standard bifold ramps:

Crash-tested in-vehicle storage. The IRV is tested to UN Regulation No. 17 — it passed a 20G (30ms) deceleration sled test with the ramp stowed inside the van. In a sudden stop or collision, a stowed ramp that isn't secured or engineered for in-vehicle loading can become a dangerous projectile. FEAL tested specifically for this and certifies to the standard. Most cargo van ramps are not tested this way.

Perforated mesh surface — traction and visibility. The anti-slip mesh surface provides grip in rain, snow, and mud by letting debris and moisture fall through rather than accumulating. The same perforations give the driver rearview mirror visibility through the raised ramp — a practical safety advantage when maneuvering with the ramp deployed or stowed vertically at the rear door.

Patented articulating top transition plate. The upper transition plate adjusts automatically to different van floor heights, providing a smooth, bump-free transition from the van floor onto the ramp regardless of the vehicle's load height or sill geometry.

Non-lubricated joints, wheels on ramp. The hinge points require no lubrication — no maintenance, no seized joints after winter storage. Wheels built into the ramp ends make folding and unfolding smoother without a spring-assist mechanism.

9.5-inch folded depth. Stowed vertically inside the rear door, the IRV takes up only 9.5 inches of cargo depth — among the shallowest profiles in the category.

Available in multiple lengths. Longer ramps produce a shallower loading angle, which reduces the effort required to push or pull heavy cargo. Select the longest ramp that will fit in your van's interior roof height when stowed vertically.

iRamp Mounting Options & Accessories

The FEAL iRamp IRV ships as a base ramp and is compatible with three optional configurations that change how it mounts and operates. Each addresses a different operational scenario:

  • No-Drill Adapter Plate — Installs the iRamp in any North American cargo van without drilling the van body. Sets up in under 30 minutes. Quick-Release hardware is included with this option, enabling the ramp to be transferred between fleet vehicles. The recommended starting configuration for most buyers — no permanent modification to the van, and you gain fleet-sharing capability automatically.
  • Quick-Release Mechanism — Allows one iRamp to serve multiple vehicles in a fleet. Each van needs the Quick-Release mounting hardware installed; the ramp clicks in and out in seconds. Useful for smaller fleets where ramp needs vary by assignment or job — the ramp travels with the driver rather than being permanently fixed to one van. Available as a standalone accessory for buyers who want fleet-sharing without the full No-Drill Adapter Plate.
  • 180-Degree Swivel Adapter — Rotates the mounted ramp left or right for flexible loading positioning. Useful when cargo orientation or the loading location makes a fixed-angle ramp inconvenient. Note: Quick-Release hardware is not included with the Swivel Adapter — order separately if you want both functions.

Contact our team if you're unsure which mounting configuration fits your van and workflow — we can confirm compatibility and help you order everything you need in one shot.

About FEAL

FEAL AB was founded in 1991 by a family in Horndal, Sweden — a small town in the Bergslagen region that has been synonymous with aluminum and metal production since the industrial era. The company started with a specific mission: produce functional, sustainable, user-friendly ramps for people with disabilities. That origin in accessibility engineering is evident in the FEAL product philosophy — every ramp is designed around the end user's physical reality, not around manufacturing convenience.

Over three decades, FEAL expanded from the Nordic accessibility market into transport industry ramps, vehicle loading ramps, modular system ramps, and threshold solutions. The iRamp brand emerged as FEAL's premium vehicle ramp line — distinct from the broader catalog in its focus on professional commercial use, military-grade materials, and certifications that other manufacturers don't pursue. FEAL controls the full production chain at the Horndal facility: stretch metal manufacturing, fabrication, anodizing, and surface finishing are all done in-house. There are no intermediary suppliers for critical components, which is how the company maintains the consistency it cites as a competitive advantage.

The iRamp Carbon, FEAL's most recent product development, is described as the world's lightest ramp in its class — 30% lighter than comparable competitors — through the use of carbon fiber composite construction. FEAL's North American distribution is handled through Feal Ramp Inc., based in Chicago, Illinois.

iRamp IRV — Specifications

Model Platform Length Folded Height Folded Depth Platform Width Capacity Weight
IRV182 71" (~5'11") 41.8" 9.5" 36" 1,000 lb 67 lb
IRV202 79" (~6'7") 45.7" 9.5" 36" 1,000 lb 73 lb
IRV262 102" (~8'6") 57.5" 9.5" 36" 1,000 lb 84 lb
IRV282 133" (~11'1") 61.5" 9.5" 36" 1,000 lb 89 lb

Choosing the right length: The ramp must fit vertically inside your van when stowed — the folded height must be less than your van's interior rear door height. A longer ramp means a shallower loading angle, which means less effort pushing or pulling heavy cargo. For the easiest loading experience, choose the longest model whose folded height fits your van.

Confirm which model(s) are available in the product listing — not all four lengths may be in stock. Contact our team if you need a specific length confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions — FEAL iRamp

What makes the FEAL iRamp different from other cargo van ramps?

Three things stand out. First, it's crash-tested to UN Regulation No. 17 — it passed a 20G deceleration sled test with the ramp stowed inside a vehicle, certifying it won't become a projectile in a collision. Most van ramps are not tested this way. Second, the Quick-Release system allows one ramp to serve multiple fleet vehicles rather than being permanently fixed to one van. Third, the perforated mesh surface lets debris and moisture fall through while also giving the driver rearview mirror visibility through the stowed ramp.

What is the FEAL iRamp Quick-Release system?

It allows one iRamp to transfer between multiple fleet vehicles. Each van needs the Quick-Release mounting hardware installed; the ramp clicks in and out in seconds. Useful for smaller fleets where ramp usage varies by job. Quick-Release is included with the No-Drill Adapter Plate option and available separately. The 180-Degree Swivel Adapter does not include Quick-Release — order separately if you want both.

Is the FEAL iRamp crash-tested?

Yes — certified to UN Regulation No. 17. FEAL tested the stowed ramp at 20G (30ms) deceleration, equivalent to a crash-level stop. The ramp passed without breaking free. Most cargo van ramps in the market are not tested to this standard. It's the primary safety differentiator of the iRamp IRV.

What vans does the FEAL iRamp fit?

Compatible with all major North American cargo vans. The No-Drill Adapter Plate is specifically engineered for compatibility across all North American cargo van models and installs in under 30 minutes. The 36" platform width fits most standard rear door openings. Contact our team if you have a modified van or unusual door configuration.

Does the FEAL iRamp have spring assist?

Yes, it does. All IRV ramps come with spring-assist.

What is the load capacity of the FEAL iRamp?

1,000 lbs. across all four lengths (IRV182 through IRV282). The 36" width handles standard commercial cargo including HVAC equipment, tools, appliances, and power equipment.

What is the 180-Degree Swivel Adapter?

An optional accessory that rotates the mounted ramp left or right for flexible loading positioning. Useful when cargo orientation makes a fixed-angle ramp inconvenient. Does not include Quick-Release — order separately if you need both functions.
