Description

The H2.1 is the lighter – but just as rigid – iteration of Vantech’s original H2 system with increased usability and ease of install, while reducing the weight of the entire system by 20%. Vantech did this by reinforcing pressure points and joints while reducing the material needed in non-weight-bearing areas. They also increased modularity by adding more crossbar mounting holes at shorter intervals so you can decide where and how many crossbars to use. This will allow users to compensate for solar panels, roof vents, etc. Vantech has also designed a series of front and rear end accessories that allow users to tailor our system to their individual needs.

Configuration Options

The AA configuration is simple and clean. Two “loop” or ‘U’ style end caps on each end of the system closes off the holes of the side rails, and leaves an open ended rack for cargo such as ladders, canoes, and surfboards.

The The DB configuration utilizes an angled faceplate for the front end, and our roller unit in the rear. The angled faceplate acts as a wind foil and reduces drag as well as wind noise when traveling. It also channels air over and around any low profile cargo, like ladders and folding tents. The ‘B’ roller on the rear allows for easy loading and unloading. It also protects your roof line and any high mounted brake lights or reflectors from accidental loading/unloading damage. Please note that the ‘D’ piece can also be installed upside down to create a basket style front end for the system.

The DC configuration utilizes an angled faceplate for the front end, and a vertical faceplate in the rear. The angled faceplate acts as a wind foil and reduces drag as well as wind noise when traveling. It also channels air over and around any low profile cargo like ladders and folding tents. The ‘C’ faceplate attaches vertically and closes off the rear of the system, turning the rack into a basket with a wind buffeting front, and closed off rear. Please note that the ‘D’ piece can also be installed upside down to create a basket style front end for the system.

The EB configuration is ideal for hauling larger and longer cargo. The ‘E’ front end acts as an extension to the overall system by adding an extra cross bar up front. This crossbar adds an extra 19.5 inches of space to the H2.1 system, and allows for fog lights and other clamp-mounted accessories to be seamlessly integrated to the system.The ‘B’ roller on the rear allows for easy loading and unloading. It also protects your roof line and any high mounted brake lights or reflectors from accidental loading/unloading damage.

The EC configuration turns your H2.1 into an extended half basket. The ‘E’ front end acts as an extension to the overall system by adding an extra cross bar up front. This crossbar adds an extra 19.5 inches of space to the H2.1 system, and allows for fog lights and other clamp-mounted accessories to be seamlessly integrated to the system. The ‘C’ rear faceplate closes off the rear and prevents cargo from falling or sliding out from the back of the system.

    While not perfect I am still very pleased with the H2.1 I ordered from Upfit. The shipping was amazingly quick, only 3 days to N.C and I found the price in line with other online merchants. I would definitely order from them again.

    I went with the rear roller and extended front cage for my 21′ 136″wb Promaster. In black it looks very good and I am unloading and loading 28ft ladders by myself with no issues. The roller is awesome. I love the low profile and “camping van” look. Seems sturdy and I would buy it again for sure. My mobile mechanic and I installed it in about 2 hours.

    3 negatives. Whistles quite loud at highway speeds but when I added ladders it mostly went away. It sags slightly in the center on both sides where a plastic bushing connects both middle sections. Third is that 12 carriage bolts were missing. I bought the required bolts at Lowes and all is well. Overall small complaints and still I would recommend. And the seller was 5 stars for sure.

    This roof rack was a great addition to our Dodge Ram Promaster 2500! The installation was easy, and the fit was perfect for my new conversion van. Also, having the ability to easily adjust the cross rails was fantastic for attaching all of my solar panels perfectly around our installed fans. Highly recommend this roof rack.
