About National Fleet Products
National Fleet Products is a family-owned business headquartered at 208 Capital Drive NE in Buffalo, Minnesota. The company has been importing and distributing commercial vehicle aftermarket accessories across North and Central America for over 20 years, acting as the North American bridge between European manufacturers and the work van and commercial truck operators who need their products.
The three product lines Upfit Supply carries through National Fleet Products each come from manufacturers with deep roots in European commercial vehicle markets — where cargo van security, ergonomic loading solutions, and work environment ventilation have been priorities in fleet specification for decades longer than in North America. WM System loading ramps were designed as a practical alternative to hydraulic liftgates for operators who can't justify the cost, maintenance burden, or payload penalty of a full liftgate installation. Ava-Matic vents emerged from a European recognition that cargo van drivers and tradespeople working in enclosed vehicles all day deserve better air quality without adding electrical complexity. UFO locks by Serrature Meroni became the European market standard for van security precisely because they were designed specifically for van doors — not adapted from padlocks or commercial hardware — and the product has sold over a million units globally to reflect that fit.
National Fleet Products also manufactures its own line of commercial vehicle accessories tailored to North American fleet operators, designed and manufactured in the USA, alongside the imported European brands.
WM System vs. Hydraulic Liftgate — When a Ramp Makes More Sense
Hydraulic liftgates are the gold standard for heavy-capacity loading, but they come with significant tradeoffs that make them impractical for many work van operations. They add 300–800 lbs. to the vehicle's payload capacity rating. They require hydraulic fluid maintenance, electrical connection, and regular inspection. They're expensive to repair when they fail. And they slow down the loading process for lighter cargo because of the time required to operate the platform.
WM System ramps address a specific segment: operators with moderate load weights (up to 3,300 lbs. on the PC Series) who need a faster, simpler, lower-maintenance loading solution. The spring-assist deployment takes about five seconds and roughly 20 lbs. of force. There's nothing to service, no fluid to check, no electrical connection to fail. And the swivel function of the Light Plus and PC Series means the ramp doubles as a second door — swinging 90 degrees clear of the cargo opening so drivers can access the van freely without deploying the ramp at all. For operations loading equipment, packages, or machinery multiple times per day, the combination of speed, reliability, and zero maintenance makes a WM System ramp a practical alternative for the right application.

Frequently Asked Questions — National Fleet Products
What is the difference between WM System Light, Light Plus, and PC Series ramps?
All three are interior-mount, spring-assist loading ramps. The Light Series is non-swivel — deploys straight out, takes up 13" depth, handles 880–1,200 lbs. The Light Plus Series adds a 90-degree external swivel so the ramp pivots to the side for unobstructed rear access without deploying. Nearly all aluminum construction. The PC Series is the high-capacity swivel option — 2,200 or 3,300 lbs. capacity, aluminum surface with steel rails, optional third-piece extension for longer ramp configurations.
What does the WM System swivel function do?
It lets the ramp pivot 90 degrees to the side like a second door — giving you full rear cargo access without deploying the ramp. Useful for frequent rear access without loading, and enables pallet loading by forklift since the ramp clears the full rear opening. An optional internal lock kit stores the ramp against the wheel well when the swivel isn't needed.
Will a WM System ramp work with my Ford Transit with a factory rear AC unit?
If your Transit has a factory rear AC blower, only a right-hand swivel ramp is compatible. Standard ramps have a left-hand swivel. If the blower has a plastic shroud, a minor modification may be needed for mounting hardware clearance. Contact our team before ordering to confirm the right configuration.
What is the difference between UFO Classic, UFO², UFO+, and UFO³?
UFO Classic: original padlock-style, removable, spherical cap sits flush against the van body — no gap for pry tools. UFO²: fixed deadlock, stays mounted to door, must be keyed to lock each time. UFO+: slamlock — auto-locks when door closes, key required only to open — ideal for multi-drop delivery. UFO³: flagship hardened steel (HRC 52-54) universal-fit slamlock/deadlock with interior emergency release cable and 250,000-combination cylinder. UFO³ Smart Duo switches between slamlock and deadlock with a key turn.
What is the difference between a slamlock and a deadlock?
A slamlock auto-locks when the door closes — no key needed to lock, only to open. Best for multi-drop delivery drivers opening and closing doors all day. A deadlock requires the driver to manually turn the key to lock each time the door is closed — better for overnight security where you want to ensure the lock is always manually engaged.
What is the difference between the Slim-Matic and Deck-Matic roof vents?
Both are wind-powered — no electricity. The Slim-Matic (2.2" tall) is a rotating vent: it spins in the wind to extract air, heat, and moisture, moving up to 76.5 CFM at highway speed. Available in round or rectangle shutter. The Deck-Matic (1.1" tall) is a static dual-flow stainless steel vent with an anti-submersion waterproofing system — draws fresh air in one side, expels stale air from the other. Better suited to washdown environments. Note: round shutter Slim-Matic does not fit RAM ProMaster — use rectangle shutter (NFP-AVA5110) for ProMaster.
Will the Slim-Matic fit under a ladder rack?
Yes. At 2.2 inches tall, it's designed specifically to fit under most van ladder racks. The Deck-Matic at 1.1 inches is even more clearance-friendly. Confirm your rack's base-to-roof clearance if your specific rack sits unusually low.
