About Rola-Case
Rola-Case (also known as Rola-Shelf in some markets) was founded in 1982 by Sydney-based electrician Thomas Moloney, who set out to solve his own tool organization problem and ended up building one of the most widely used commercial van storage systems in the world. The original RolaCase — a compact, durable part organizer case — grew into a full van racking and interior storage ecosystem used by tradespeople, fleet operators, and commercial vehicle upfitters across North America, Australia, and beyond.
What distinguishes Rola-Case from many competitors is the depth of their system integration. Their shelving frames, cabinet kits, partitions, plastic bins, and accessories are all engineered to work together — same mounting system, same finish, same modular dimensions — so a Rola-Case upfit can be configured and reconfigured as work needs change without replacing the entire system. For fleet operators standardizing across multiple vehicles, this consistency is a significant operational advantage.
All Rola-Case products sold through Upfit Supply are galvanized steel construction with a heavy-duty hammered powder coat finish — the same specification used across their commercial and fleet product lines. Rola-Case is an NTEA member and their USA operation is headquartered in Middletown, CT.
Rola-Case Van Compatibility
Rola-Case shelving packages, partitions, and cabinet kits are available for the following cargo van models and configurations:
- Ford Transit — Low Roof 130" WB, Mid Roof 130" WB, Low Roof 148" WB, Mid Roof 148" WB, High Roof 148" WB
- RAM ProMaster — 118" WB Standard Roof, 136" WB Standard/High Roof, 159" WB High Roof
- Mercedes Sprinter — 144" WB Standard Roof, 144" WB High Roof, 170" WB High Roof
- Chevrolet Express / GMC Savana — 135" WB, 155" WB
Shelving packages are vehicle-specific — the frame dimensions, shelf widths, and anchor points are configured for the interior dimensions of each wheelbase and roof height combination. Always confirm your exact van configuration (wheelbase, roof height, model year) when selecting a package.
Who Uses Rola-Case
Electricians running high parts-count jobs benefit most from Rola-Case's bin package configurations — the combination of shelving frames and plastic storage bins keeps fittings, connectors, wire, and hardware organized and accessible without digging through loose boxes in the cargo area.
HVAC and refrigeration technicians carry a wide mix of parts, tools, gauges, and refrigerant handling equipment. The Rola-Case HVAC bin package is pre-configured for this use case, and the vented gas cabinet option accommodates refrigerant cylinders that require separated, ventilated storage.
Plumbers and general service contractors benefit from the combination of open shelving for larger parts and cabinet kits with locking drawers for hand tools and precision items that need to stay secured while driving.
Fleet managers standardizing across multiple vans find particular value in Rola-Case's modular system — the same components fit across vehicle types, new vans can be upfitted to the same configuration as existing fleet vehicles, and individual shelving sections or cabinets can be replaced without pulling an entire upfit.
