Reviewing Legend's BaseAir Rigid Floor for Ford Transit Cargo Vans

What the BaseAir Floor Actually Is
The Legend BaseAir is a rigid composite floor built for Ford Transit cargo vans. It's Legend's economy-line rigid floor — not the top-of-the-line StabiliGrip, but still a solid surface that eliminates the ribbing problem you get with flexible rubber floors. If you've ever been in a van with a cheap rubber mat and felt that corrugated floor underneath, you know what I mean. No tripping hazards, no feeling like you're walking on a washboard.
What makes it practical is the Fold Flex design. The floor ships folded in thirds — a manageable size in the box — and when you unfold it, you've got a one-piece floor from front to back of the van. No transition strips, no seams to catch your foot on. The whole install takes about 5 minutes. It's made from polypropylene with a fluted core — two layers of plastic sandwiching a corrugated middle section. Lightweight, but still a real floor.

Why Rigid Beats Rubber in a Work Van
Rubber floors in cargo vans work fine for basic use, but they have one problem: they're flexible. That means the ribbing underneath the van shows through. If you're rolling carts in and out, moving equipment, or just walking around in the back, that flex and those ridges are a daily annoyance. With a Ford Transit cargo van floor like the BaseAir, you've got a flat, solid surface that doesn't move.
The BaseAir also comes with aluminum threshold sills for your rear and side doors. It's basically an aluminum C-channel that clips onto the edge of the floor at the door opening. This protects the floor edge from chipping away as you load and unload. Without it, that edge is the first thing to wear down. With it, you're protecting your investment.
It's not bulletproof — if you're loading pallets or heavy equipment daily, you'll want to step up to the StabiliGrip floor, which handles higher impact loads. But for last-mile delivery, utility work, or any trade where the van floor takes moderate daily use, the BaseAir is a solid, lower-cost option.
Who Should Get This Ford Transit Cargo Van Floor
This floor is built for trades and services that don't need the absolute toughest option but still want a proper rigid floor — last-mile delivery drivers, utility workers, cable techs, HVAC service vans, and similar operations. If your cargo is moderate and your main concern is a clean, flat surface that installs fast, this checks those boxes.
It's precision cut for your specific van, so you need to get your wheelbase and configuration right when ordering. For Transit, that means knowing whether you have the 130-inch, 148-inch, or 148-inch extended wheelbase. Also whether you have single or dual sliding doors, and whether your rear axle is single or dual (dual rear wheels affects the wheel well cutouts on the floor).
Key features:
Fold Flex design — ships folded, unfolds to a one-piece floor
No transition strips or floor seams
Aluminum door sills included (rear and side)
Precision cut for Transit wheelbase and configuration
About 5-minute install
Also fits ProMaster and Sprinter
If you need a rigid floor that goes in fast and holds up to regular work van use, the BaseAir is worth it.
