Low Profile Truck Tool Boxes
Low Profile Truck Tool Boxes
Shop low profile truck tool boxes: crossover boxes built to sit lower above the bed rails than a standard box, so they block less of your rear window view while still giving you lockable storage behind the cab. This collection brings together low profile crossover boxes for full-size and mid-size pickups from UWS, Highway Products, Better Built, Weather Guard, RKI, Dee Zee, CamLocker and TrailFX. Low Profile vs. Standard Crossover Boxes
A standard crossover box rises higher above the rails for maximum capacity. A low profile box trades some of that height for a clearer view through the rear window and a lower look on the truck. Some low profile models pair the lower lid with a deep or angled tub that extends further into the bed, which wins back storage space below the rail line.
Lid Styles
The low profile boxes we carry use a single lid. If you want to reach your tools from either side of the truck, compare gull wing truck tool boxes, which use two lids.
Sizes and Fitment
Crossover box length matches your bed width. Full-size pickups typically take a box around 69 to 72 inches; mid-size trucks such as the Tacoma, Colorado and Ranger take a box around 60 to 63 inches. Use the vehicle filter or check each box's listed dimensions against your bed rails before ordering.
Aluminum or Steel
Most low profile boxes here are aluminum, in bright, gloss black and matte black finishes. Weather Guard also offers some low profile models in steel. Aluminum saves weight and resists rust; steel usually costs less.
