What to Expect When the Box Shows Up
The Legend BaseAir ships in a big box — we're talking about a 6-foot by 4.5-foot footprint. Because of that size, it ships LTL freight on a pallet. That means a slightly longer delivery window than a standard package, but it's the right call for a product this size. LTL typically means less damage. One thing to know right away: there are no paper instructions inside the box. Legend puts a QR code on the outside of the packaging instead — scan it with your phone and you'll get the full installation guide. Inside the Legend BaseAir Van Floor Box: Materials and Design
The first thing you'll notice unboxing this Legend BaseAir van floor is how light it is compared to the StabiliGrip floor. The Legend StabiliGrip floor for a 148-inch Transit runs over 100 lbs. This one you can actually lift onto a workbench yourself. That's because the BaseAir is thinner — around 0.4 inches thick — and uses a fluted polypropylene core instead of a solid composite. Think of it like a really beefy version of their van wall liners: plastic layer on top, corrugated core in the middle, plastic layer on the bottom.
The top surface is textured and grippy. The bottom is a smooth black finish. The Fold Flex feature is two score lines on the back of the floor that let it fold in thirds without too much bend in the material. Unfold it and you've got a single, connected piece from front to back. No connectors, no separate sections.
The floor also has a punch-out cutout for the spare tire access on the Ford Transit — a small detail that shows it's precision cut for the vehicle. Door sills (aluminum C-channel) are included for both the rear and side doors, and they just snap onto the edge of the floor at the door opening. They protect the floor edge and give you a milled, grippy surface to step on.
