An unshelved cargo van is just a box. Everything slides to the back on the first hard turn, and you lose ten minutes at every stop digging through a pile for the one fitting you need. Multiply that across a week and it's real money.

Shelving fixes it, but only if you buy the right size for your van — and product photos rarely tell you what actually shows up on the truck.

Weather Guard 52x60x13.5 Adjustable 4 Shelf Unit

This unboxing covers the Weather Guard Adjustable 4 Shelf Unit — 52" W x 60" H x 13.5" D (Model 9375-3-03): every piece in the box, the hardware you get, and the details that decide whether it fits your van.

What this shelf is built for

At 60 inches tall, this unit is made for full-size mid roof and high roof cargo vans. It won't fit a compact van, and on most standard-roof vans you'll be tight. The 13.5-inch depth is Weather Guard's standard shelf depth, which keeps your aisle open while still holding bins, cases and parts.

The 52-inch width is a good middle ground: enough run to organize a real inventory without eating the full length of your cargo area, so you can still run a second unit or leave room for longer material.

What comes in the box

  • Four shelves. Three at 13.5" deep, plus a narrower 10.5" top shelf that follows the taper of the van roof
  • Two end panels, left and right specific, with the tapered profile that clears the curve of the roof
  • Shelf dividers, included for both the standard and narrow shelves, which drop into pre-cut slots
  • Assembly hardware in one bag — single serrated-head bolts, no lock washers needed
  • Installation hardware in a separate bag: brackets, spacers, plus nuts, washers and lock nuts
  • Foot brackets for anchoring the unit to the van floor
  • A plus nut tool — more on that below
  • A one-page instruction sheet with a QR code linking to full assembly and installation instructions

Details worth knowing

Pressed-in nuts at all four corners. Each shelf has captive nuts built in, so assembly is one bolt per corner instead of fumbling with a nut, washer, lock washer and bolt. The serrated bolt head means no washers at all.

Pre-drilled accessory holes everywhere. The end panels have mounting locations on the face, back and sides for hooks, literature holders and cargo rings. The shelves themselves have holes for drawers, cabinets, shelf doors and back panels — so adding accessories later doesn't mean drilling.

Adjustable in roughly 2-inch increments. The end panels are drilled top to bottom, so you can raise a shelf to clear a wheel well or drop it for taller cargo.

Shelves mount either way. Run them flat for a flush top, or flip the orientation for a lipped cradle that keeps loose items from sliding out.

A plus nut tool is included. Mounting van equipment usually means setting plus nuts to turn a sheet metal hole into a threaded anchor point. It's an odd tool most people don't own, and Weather Guard puts a disposable one in the kit. Not every brand does.

Bright white powder coat. Weather Guard finishes its shelving in white rather than the dark gray most van equipment comes in. It genuinely brightens up the back of a cargo van.

Can you install it yourself?

Yes. If you're handy, this is a straightforward assembly and install with common hand tools. The only unusual step is setting the plus nuts, and the tool for that is in the box. We've also filmed the full assembly and installation for this unit — worth a watch before you start.

FAQ

Will this shelf fit my van?
At 60 inches tall it's designed for full-size mid roof and high roof cargo vans. It won't work in a compact van, and most standard-roof vans will be too tight. Measure your interior height before ordering.

Are shelf dividers included?
Yes. Dividers for both the 13.5-inch shelves and the narrower 10.5-inch top shelf come in the box, and they drop into pre-cut slots.

Do I need special tools to install it?
Common hand tools, plus a plus nut tool for anchoring to the van — and Weather Guard includes a disposable one in the kit.

Can I add drawers or lockable doors later?
Yes. The shelves and end panels come pre-drilled for accessories, so adding cabinets, drawers, shelf doors or back panels doesn't require drilling.

How many shelves come with it?
Four — three at 13.5 inches deep and one narrower 10.5-inch top shelf that follows the taper of the van roof.
