Going wide with van shelving only makes sense if the unit still fits the van and leaves you room to work. The Weather Guard adjustable 4 shelf unit in the 60" x 60" x 13.5" size covers a lot of wall without eating your aisle, and in this unboxing we open the box and go through every piece.

Weather Guard Adjustable 4 Shelf Unit, 60" x 60" x 13.5"

This unboxing covers the Weather Guard Adjustable 4 Shelf Unit – 60" W x 60" H x 13.5" D (Model 9376-3-03). We cover what's in the box, the hardware, and the design details that decide whether it works in your van.

How it ships

This unit weighs about 108 pounds boxed, so it can't go parcel. It ships by LTL freight on a pallet, which usually means a delivery appointment and a liftgate if you need one. It's slower than a UPS or FedEx box, but there's a lot less damage when 100+ pounds of steel stays strapped to a pallet. Inside, cardboard separators and dunnage keep the parts from shifting in transit.

What comes in the box

  • Four shelves. Three at 13.5" deep, plus a narrower 10.5" top shelf
  • Two end panels, left and right specific, tapered at the top
  • Adjustable dividers for every shelf, four per shelf, sized for both shelf depths
  • Assembly hardware: one bolt per shelf corner
  • Installation hardware: angle brackets, straight brackets, floor spacers, and plus nuts
  • Foot brackets that attach to the bottom of the end panels for floor mounting
  • A plus nut install tool
  • A one-page sheet with a QR code that links to the latest assembly and installation instructions

The tapered end panels

Both end panels taper in at the top. Van walls angle inward as they rise toward the roof, and the taper lets the unit sit closer to the wall while keeping as much height as possible. That's why the top shelf is the shallower 10.5" one.

Near the floor, the end panel cuts in as well. In vans like the RAM ProMaster, where the body curves at the bottom corner, a straight panel to the floor would push the shelf out and cost you aisle space. Weather Guard's tapered design gives you a closer fit to the van wall and more usable floor space.

Details worth knowing

Captive nuts at all four corners. Each shelf has pressed-in nuts, so assembly is one bolt per corner. No bag of a thousand parts, and the captive nuts help keep things quiet on the road.

Shelves have a lip on every edge, so they cradle your gear and pair with the dividers to keep things from sliding. You can also flip them and mount them flat for a flush top surface if you want to attach cleats or brackets.

Pre-punched accessory holes everywhere. The end panels have holes that line up with Weather Guard hooks and holders, which bolt on in about 30 seconds. The shelves have locations for drawer units, plus front holes for shelf doors and rear holes for back panels, so you can build a lockable compartment later without drilling.

Multiple shelf heights. Holes on the front and back of each end panel let you set each shelf where you need it.

A plus nut tool is in the box. Plus nuts crimp into a hole in the van's wall or floor to create a threaded mounting point for your brackets. Weather Guard includes the tool right with the hardware.

Brite White ARMOR TUF powder coat. Most van shelving is gray or black. The white finish brightens the back of a dark work van and resists rust and scratches. The whole unit is heavy-gauge steel with fully hemmed shelves for strength.

Can you install it yourself?

Yes. Assembly is just bolts, and the install hardware and tool are included. We're installing this exact unit in a follow-up video, so you can watch the full assembly and installation before you start.

FAQ

How deep are the shelves?
Three shelves are 13.5" deep and the top shelf is 10.5" deep. The overall unit is 60" wide, 60" tall, and 13.5" deep.

Why does this ship on a pallet instead of UPS?
It weighs about 108 pounds boxed, so it ships LTL freight. Expect a delivery appointment, and schedule a liftgate if you need one.

Are shelf dividers included?
Yes. You get four adjustable dividers for each shelf, sized for both the 13.5" and 10.5" shelves.

Do I have to drill into my van?
You'll set plus nuts to create threaded anchor points in the sheet metal, which is standard for van shelving. The tool for that is included in the box.

Can I add doors or drawers later?
Yes. The shelves have pre-punched holes for drawer units, shelf doors, and back panels, so you can add them without drilling new holes.
