What Makes the Weather Guard Plastic Bins Different
Weather Guard redesigned their van shelving bins and the difference is noticeable. The previous bins were generic off-the-shelf red bins that happened to work with the shelving system but were not Weather Guard branded or specifically engineered for that shelf depth. These new Weather Guard plastic bins for 13.5-inch shelving (part number 9855-7-2) are designed specifically for Weather Guard's 13.5-inch deep shelving, fit noticeably better on the shelf lip, carry the Weather Guard logo molded directly into the plastic, and feel substantially more durable than the older version.
The redesigned fit matters in practice. A lip indentation on the outside of each Weather Guard plastic bin sits directly over the front edge of the shelf, which keeps the bin from sliding forward when the van is moving. To remove a bin, you simply lift it up and pull it out - it is not snapped in, just held reliably in place by the shelf geometry.
What's in the Box
These bins are sold as a set of six, part number 9855-7-2. Three bins are stacked on top of the box and three are inside when you open it up. There is no additional hardware since these simply drop into the shelf. The bins have small interior slots that suggest a divider system is planned or in development. As of the time of this video, Weather Guard had not released dividers for this bin, but the infrastructure is built in. There is also a label slot on the front face of each bin for marking contents.

The Weather Guard plastic bins have a grooved stacking design on the top rim that allows the bottom of one bin to nest securely into the groove of the bin below it. This means you can take multiple bins out of the van, load them up at the supply house, and stack them together for carrying without everything sliding off each other. These are built as heavy-duty trade bins, not light-duty storage solutions. They are part of the Red Zone accessory line and come in the accent red color that stands out against the white shelving.
