What Arrives and How It Ships

The Weather Guard Sliding Truck Bed ships on a pallet via LTL freight carrier. Shipping weight on the SB75 runs around 520 lbs (product weight approximately 450 lbs - the rest is pallet, plywood base, and packaging). LTL means the product is handled by pallet jacks and forklifts the whole way - much lower damage rate. You'll need to schedule a delivery appointment.

What's Inside the Box

The Weather Guard sliding truck bed ships fully assembled - deck, slide layer, and bracket frame as one unit. No pre-assembly needed. To install, you separate the top deck from the base frame (by pulling the drawer out of its slides), install the base frame, bolt it down, and drop the deck back in. Hardware pack includes plus nuts, the plus nut installation tool (Weather Guard includes this every time - most people don't own one), six cargo ring tie-down points with slider nuts, additional slider nuts, button head bolts. A QR code on the included one-pager links to the full installation guide.

Removable side and back rails are also in the box, separated during shipping by a foam-wrapped 2x4.

Weather Guard Sliding Truck Bed Build Quality and Key Specs

Heavy-duty steel throughout - frame, rollers, and rails. The rollers are steel, not plastic or composite, which is what gives this unit its 2,000 lb load capacity even fully extended. 100% extension on all models - not 70% like some competitors. Deck surface has a textured finish similar to a spray-in bed liner.

Dimensions on the SB75: deck approximately 71.25 to 73.5 inches long (front to back), 48 inches wide edge to edge. Side rails extend approximately 6 inches tall when engaged and are fully removable. Rail system on left, center, and right for tie-downs and accessories.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the SB65 and SB75?

Length only. The SB65 (65-in) fits 5.5-ft, 6.5-ft, and 8-ft beds. The SB75 (75-in) fits 6.5-ft and 8-ft beds only. Same 48-in width, 2,000 lb capacity, and 100% extension on both. You might choose the shorter SB65 on a longer bed truck if you want to leave room for a toolbox or transfer tank up front.

Do I need to drill into my truck bed?

Yes - the base frame attaches using plus nuts installed in drilled holes. The plus nut tool is included.

Is this a one-person install?

The process is straightforward but the weight makes it a two-person job.

What's the warranty?

Limited lifetime warranty from Weather Guard.
